As long as you’ve got a signal..Use the Waze app on your phone. IMO the best SatNav app by far with up to the minute accuracy. www.waze.com

I have never experienced a problem. I agree that you need a signal when you enter your destination, but if this is done before you set off, as required by law when using a mobile device, you don’t need a signal during the journey as directions are received by satellite. As long as you’ve got a signal..

The only thing received by satellite is your current location, the software in your device has to work out the directions to your destination based on the map data it has (or doesn’t have).I have never experienced a problem. Exactly that. That’s why you load the map before commencing your journey. The only thing received by satellite is your current location, the software in your device has to work out the directions to your destination based on the map data it has (or doesn’t have).
Yes.Can’t you cache the maps like you can with Google maps?
I use Waze every day and have never had this issue.until the next tile of map fails to load..
You need to go fartherI use Waze every day and have never had this issue.
As the actress said to the bishop! You need to go farther
Interesting. I can only speak as I find. I’ve never had those issues (.....so far).It depends how far you go, as @Loz says. I've been in plenty of places where there was no signal, and no signal the next morning when I'm deciding where to head, so I use either Navmii or Here which keep the maps on the phone all the time. You can update them before leaving home on a long trip then you don't have to bother where you go after that, but still have it download traffic along the way if you did have a signal. Could never get along with Maze/Google maps for nav, for some reason when the directions interrupt the audio I'm listening to I only get the first couple of syllables before it's cut off which doesn't seem to happen with non Google apps
Yeah it's probably equipment specific, I've got the basic Composition unit with an iPhone 6SInteresting. I can only speak as I find. I’ve never had those issues (.....so far).
Same here! I chose not to upgrade the head unit because I’ve been using Waze for 2 years now and it’s never let me down. In my experience all sat Navs have the occasional blip. If my experience of Waze changes I will definitely report back accordingly.Yeah it's probably equipment specific, I've got the basic Composition unit with an iPhone 6S
Hi, do your parking sensors show on display? As I had the same problem with coding and mine was from a beetle, the reason I believe for the phone is that it uses a seperate system from radio, in the end i swapped back as dealer couldn’t sort. Please let me know if you have any joyHad one paired up to my Vw t6 kombi yesterday at Vw dealer
The unit came from a Vw beatle
All done but Bluetooth is not pairing at moment
I agree and why I have a brand new Tomtom 6200 live.Unless your car is online when driving, car satnav as seen on T6 (and majority of vehicles) is obsolete now. It is 21st century! T6 units have no usability value for me, it doesn't even accept large size SDcard not to mention HD via USB sockets (USB you can't even charge your mobile with!!!)
Google maps and your journey can be downloaded beforehand but it lacks live updates which are useful. I have been using mobile for everything entertainment-wise in our car. Kids have their consoles or tablets charging using fast charger obviously @ the back! Why would you need fast chargers for you passangers VW???!!!
Otherwise great Van.
It’s possible to get optical park visible on the radio, just needs some codingHi, do your parking sensors show on display? I have had this done but wouldn’t recommend it. Turned out to be an expensive mod and not all my functions work. No car nett , no Apple play. So a verNo there is nothing that can be done, even in the dealers. The head unit is coded to your van and therefore any that are being sold in places like eBay are totally useless, as they are coded to the vehicle they were taken out of. Your only option is to get an after market head unit such as Pioneer etc.
