Retrofit "Prepared for California Remote Control"

Hi,

I have just noticed that VW has released an app (how called "California: Volkswagen Vanlife", which offers more remote control than the regular Volkswagen app. The problem is that it only supports T6.1s with model year 2024 and after, which have the option "Prepared for California Remote Control" listed.

I wonder, how hard would it be to enable this on an older T6.1? Mine is Model year 2022.

I guess you would need to figure out what part of the vehicle this remote communicates with and update or replace it to current version ?

Do you know where one can access diagrams/plans to find out more?

Conceptually, it seems that basically the "camping" screen functions are now remotely accessible, I wonder if one would need a whole swap of it or if a firmware would do...
