Retrofitted California Roof Lighting - using existing buttons

After a bit of help.

I've recently had a T6 California Elevating roof retrofitted.

In the roof, there is factory LED lighting for the bed when the roof is up, that the conversion company have tapped into using just a simple toggle switch. This is fine, but I noticed a couple of light switches already installed in the roof that are installed from Factory (I believe they were an optional extra).

What I'd like to do it utilise these switches to give the OEM feel, but the conversion place have said its difficult given the lights work off the BCM, and required additional parts.

I wondered if there was a way to modify the circuit board in the switch to make its a simple ON/OFF (I've previously had to take the resister off the internal release button and bridge that to allow that to work, so I have a limited amount of skill if required). I believe this button allowed for the lights to be dimmed with a 'long hold'.

Worth looking into, or stick with the Toggle?

Button Part Number: 7E0 959 917
No connectors are in place for these buttons, so I I'd need to get fold of them, and replacement fly leads.

TIA
