Hi All,

Has anyone got on of these fitted and the Van does not have a pop-top roof? Would like to know about the headroom when sitting, are you up too high and unable to sit up straight? And how much room do you really get in the rear?

Is the drop-down rear any good?

Cheers, all!

They sit quite high because the seat base flips and folds forwards. Titan beds, or similar slide bed systems, slide either forwards or backwards and sit a bit lower

We're on our second. They are higher, but not so that your heads contacts the roof. Our kids like being higher to see out of the windows. The girls feet don't touch the ground, but son (6'3") finds it comfortable as he doesn't have his knees up higher than hips so much. His head clears the roof fine. The drop down rear makes a really useful parcel shelf/bedding store. Plenty of space underneath too.

Been out with a tape measure. It's 140cm from my replaced ply floor to the high point of the original Kombi ceiling. The front of the seat is 54cm off the floor, with 86cm to the ceiling. The rear of the seat (against the backrest is 50cm high, 90cm clearance. Hope this helps. I have the 130cm sliding version, which is the higher of the options (I think there's a version that's 1-2cm lower).

Measurements of the lengths would be great:
When it is in the seat position - length from the very front of the seat to the back when the rear section is folded down to form the parcel shelf
When in the bed position - full length of the bed
And what is the gap to the rear door/tailgate? It looks pretty snug in the pictures but it would be good to know how close to the door it is mounted.

I've got your other measurements of the seat height which are really useful

It will need to be tomorrow. In terms of parcel shelf to door, I snugged it right up, to give as much space as possible in front. With the 'parcel shelf flat, it squashes the cushion a bit on the cut out corner, as it's not the same shape as the van. Be aware also that they do these beds in two heights and two lengths, so check when/where you buy it - do you have it already? I think Kiravans had a different height model for some reason (though probably incorrect there). "The 112cm and 120cm RIB bed comes in two lengths (standard) 1860mm and (extra long) 1940mm for the taller person". Mines the 1860mm for reference. Heights are 330mm or 340mm (277/287mm for sliders)

OK, length in seat position is 1392mm and in bed position it's 1864mm. Mine is set up tight to the nearside (meaning operating the handle is a minor pain) and backwards enough that the rounded edge of the van interior squashes the cushion slightly, but the 'parcel shelf' is right up against the tailgate (at the edge at least - the tailgate is curved).

Pic below to give reference point for front edge of the seat, in seat position - couldn't measure this side accurately as too much in the way.

Only the panels are carpeted incidentally. The dark bits are obvs bare metal.
