Scrapage scheme

Am I correct that vw have announced the scheme, only asking as I've ordered new van and would you believe it I've got an old banger to get rid off, I've paid deposit for new van but haven't signed any fiancé package yet, the tight gits only offered 100 quid for my px, what I did sign for was for a t30 dsg, a couple of weeks later I changed to a t32 without signing anything, could I now get the minimum 2000 scrappage vw have announced..

Volkswagen has become the latest manufacturer to announce a UK scrappage scheme for diesel cars. The scheme aims to get customers into newer, less polluting cars by offering them discounts if they turn in their older VW diesel car from the Euro 1-4 classifications, which are typically seven or more years old.

The scrappage scheme applies to not just the Volkswagen and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands, but also other brands owned by the Volkswagen

Go and see the dealer, I'm sure you'll get the deal. I phoned a few weeks after I ordered mine to get the loyalty discount of £1000 at the time that I found out about on the previous T6 forum.

So looks like I'm going to be 2,000 better off when the dealer offered 100 quid for px, oh 2 grand off extras to buy

Summary of offers
Model Customer Scrappage Saving
Caddy Panel Van & Caddy Life (SWB & LWB) £1,000
Transporter Panel Van, Kombi & Window Van £2,000
Transporter Shuttle £2,000
Caravelle £2,000
Crafter £2,000

Hi

I asked about Scrappage scheme before VW announced theirs when I ordered mine and the dealership said they would honour it if VW released a scheme. Holy moses two days after I order my T32 it announced. But 2000 is less than what I was already offered for my PX so I won't benefit....
But dealers did honour the concept of adding the discount to existing orders

Van turned up today ready for prep, I mentioned the scrappaged deal which has just been brought in, um will they honour it I'm asking myself, certainly wasn't a instant yes, excuses came flooding in, they need to talk to higher command, my reply was bad news to me is bad news for you, ill cancel order and re 0reder,they can then have a van in stock to sell to me, its not my fault the manufactures brought this scheme in, we shall see tomorrow where I stand, another 3 months wait doesn't bother me if I'm saving a couple of grand....

I've been told that my fleet discount excludes me from benefitting from the scheme. My order is direct with a dealer with a *healthy* discount provided by an arrangement with my union

Would that "healthy" discount be about 20%? You probably don't want to hear this, but a couple of VW dealerships in the north west are adding a further 2 and 3% to that discount. Take the vat off as well, and you have to agree it's one hell of a saving.

I would challenge that as it's not in the spirit of the scheme...ie fleet discount is a sales agreement..... a Scrappage scheme is meant to be for a manufacturer entering into a scheme with authorities to benefit the environment. would be a bad media spin if they said it replaced any sales agreements...
