Seat/Bed Width

Hi,

I'm closing in on some bed options and need some advise on width.
I'm doing my own conversion bit by bit and with some of it pro install. I know that I want a bed on rails. There are a couple of options on manufacture / rail system but what I need to know is what affect does bed width have on kitchen furniture choice.
I'm probably having the bed done by an installer before I do the kitchen install myself later this year and there are options of 1120mm or 1200mm wide beds. I'm inclined to order the 1200mm wide but I'd like to understand how this may limit my choices in kitchen furniture layout / units. Does anyone have any direct experience regarding this or could point me in the direction of information to help me decided. Thanks

Frankly it all depends on how big you are.
Simple as that, we have a California 2 seater bed and it’s fine, both about 5’10 and slim build.

We went for 1200mm. It also gives us 3 belted seats in the back. Our wardrobe is 300mm deep.

we've settled on the titan vari-mount bed on caravelle rails 1120mm wide. this then looks most likely we'll go for evo design furniture at 420mm wide.

All done by my converter. Units are hand made. Bought was bought and put on Bongo rails.

I have a mid mounted 130cm Titan Bed. This still allows a Smev Dometic 9722 sink/hob to be fitted and the usual Dometic fridge. Took a bit of sculpting of the side unit to allow the bed to slide out to its full extent, but it does (just). the CMC Reimo Trio Style arrangement does something similar but with less standard sink/hob/fridge arrangement.

Is the Titan bed mounted as far back as possible? Does it touch the rear doors when down? Looks like it comes further into the sliding door than I expected!

Yes it pretty much touches the tailgate. Put it as far back as it could go otherwise the fridge wouldn't go in.

Thanks, that was just what I wanted with the original question.

We have gone for the 120 cm seat bed also which gives us 3 seat belts. Struggling to find furniture layouts that tick all our boxes though. I think furniture makers out there are just so busy at the moment and the 112cm and 130cm layouts are more popular. Where did you get your units from and what appliances did you manage to fit in?
