Sequoia Table Leg.

We had a great trip away to East Lothian last week, but the Sequoia table leg we have has jammed and we can't remove it from the base. Just to make it clearer the black plastic collar is jammed and I cannot unscrew it. Has anyone got any experience of this happening and how to solve this problem?

Problem solved! I remembered
if it should move and it doesn't, WD40.
If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape.
