Contacted my local stealers on monday to get a quote for a service plan, which is what it says to do on the VW Commercial site, no reply until i chased it up on wednesday. Received a reply saying they will get it fixed as soon as they can in the morning, still nothing heard back.....

Anyone on here take out a fixed price service plan with VW?

From memory, VW don't do fixed priced Service plans.
My dealer did individual tailored prices depending on the miles you do each year, and mine came in at an insane amount each month, but that's just because i'd hit my service schedules faster than a 'reasonable' monthly fee would cover, if that makes sense.
Also, the service intervals are strangely different on the dash countdown to a none service plan schedule. My none service plan service intervals were every 10k, where as I was told the service plan schedules were every 20k, which is not my bag. I don't care how good oil is, and how amazing long lasting filters are now, for me it's an oil change every 10k.

When I bought the van they were offering 4 services for a set amount if you were taking finance. I can pull the paperwork but from memory it was £180 +vat for 2 minors and 2 majors.

Thats a bargain @Stevefrs

I've just had a look on the VW web-site and they said to contact your dealers. I'm gonna keep the van for a few more years so I thought I might as well take out the service plan. From memory of speaking to the Skoda dealers after we bought an Octavia, they said its every 10k @Tourershine regardless of what oil they put in. Possibly because they want you to get the services out of the way?

Either way its been almost a week now and no email back...

That appears to be the thing i've only ever experienced. They carried out a software update at my vans first service and didn't tell me, drove off and component protection had been activated and I didn't have any media accessible. Phoned up and they were clueless. Eventually got a free oil change offered for the hassle of driving to and from the center to get it fixed.

Apparently the guy said he can't offer me a service plan as my van is over 6 months old, yet on the VW CV website is states 4 years and 80k miles.....

Not sure then I took mine out at the point of collection and it was obviously discounted by the finance. End of the day it is in their interest to get a full main dealer serviced van back at the end if the lease.

I own this van, no lease.

They are throwing around lame excuses about may monthly and pay upfront costs. I'll get to the bottom of it.

So I finally got a sensible answer from the general manager of the branch, £370 plus vat for two services, which is cheaper than the individual price.

The van was serviced at 19k by VW Baillieston. The warranty runs out next year. I have a pretty good local VW garage who knows what hes doing and uses genuine VW parts. Would me using him to service my van make any difference to the sale price, do people really mind about this? I personally would buy a van that has been serviced by a VW specialist, but probably not by a monkey garage.

Hi when I bought my T6 Kombi Nov 17 part of the deal was 2 free services. That was from Preston Van Centre.

My van is 10 months from first registration so thought I’d look at service options and potentially take out a plan for 2 minor and 2 major services, which seems good value. I intend just to have it serviced annually so the plan would last to year 4 (its a camper so lower mileage but further afield than most commercial vans).
The dealer gave me the same response as above and said he couldn’t set up a service plan. I pointed out it was even on the dealers own website so he’s now enquiring further.
I tried to set it up on the VW portal but after issuing me an agreement number and taking payment it then told me there had been “an issue” and they were cancelling the agreement and returning my money. This happened twice, for both the original registration and the one the van now carries.
Anyone been successful in setting up a VW service plan and then using it to have annual services?

I took out a service plan when i bought my edition new in June 2018. Two services, one minor one major service, £199 plus vat.
Had the oil changed at 10k but i paid for that myself so will use the first 'service plan' service at 20k

I am supposed to have the first 2 services as part of my deal, think the cost was £299 if you took VW finance. Last time I was in local dealer I asked the service receptionist (luckily I used to work for the dealership so on first name terms with most of the staff) and she checked online and nothing about a service plan for mine. Queried it with supplying dealer and was told it was an oversight and they were just about to pay it and it would become active in a few weeks. Not been back to check, luckily its shown on the invoice I was given for the van and clearly says FOC. Will give it a another week and then call and make sure it has been added.

I did exactly the same, however.... I phoned the dealer for a price for the first service & was quoted £340. I was told that this included oil/filter/pollen filter/inspection. I asked if this was their best price & was told that it was standard VW pricing. I then realised I had the service plan & informed the service “person”, I was then informed that the pollen filter wasn’t included & that it would be £58 extra hmmmm!! I challenged this & was told that if you have a service plan, you only get the very basic cut down service, whereas if you pay (through the nose) you get the all inclusive silken hand job. Naughty

Oh, I didn't realise that! Not good.
At 10k I only wanted an oil and filter change, was quoted and paid £145, when i collected the van told it should have been £175.
A few days later I noticed a puddle of oil on the drive...went back and had a courtesy van while they investigated. Apparantly the technician had nipped the seal when replacing the filter! I was eventually refunded £100 compensation.
