shark fin wiring help

i am trying to install a shark fin 2, for better DAB, in the instructions it talks about a feed to PHANTOM ? and REM ?
i don't understand what it means.
i know it needs a switched live, but can i take it from the fuse box ? if i haven't got a remote cable from the stereo?

You can use a switched, or 'under key', live if your head unit doesn't have the necessary output to power an active antenna, but its quite likely any decent modern head unit will have the necessary output supply.

I believe phantom mode is where the head unit supplies the voltage directly through the coax in some manner, but don't quote me on that. Some specialist ham kit works like that.

thank you, do you know if i need something on the gold piece, to go into the standard head unit?

I don't personally know, I'm afraid. That possibly looks like an SMA connector(?) Vomits likely an adaptor would be needed.
