Shuttle as a base van

So another van thread! After much searching and wondering what would be my best route I'm thinking more the day van based on not really wanting to do a whole load of cooking inside,

I'm wondering if a shuttle/caravelle might be the best option, to be able to retain air con in the back would be a good point to me.

As far as I can see the shuttle is basically a caravelle without rails? I'd probably end up selling the interior seats as I am looking to fit potentially the sliding variotech or rib sliding bed system.

I have done exactly that and works a treat. got the Rib Bed and had an interior made by USR designs left the air con in but need to run some pipes for that. Main problem is there is a lot of electrics running in the roof if you thinking about a pop top. hope that helps
