Side bars or not ??

I like mine apart from the colour (chrome). Going to get them either powder coated black or carbon dipped. I do like them though but I suppose it's all personal preference

Never understood sidebars. They don't do anything and makes the van look unbalanced as the front and rear have no lips to balance it out.

I would agree, I have sidebars with steps in on my kombi but only until my little man grows longer legs then they are going
Although I do think if your going for 'the look' then sidebars with roof bars even it out more

I thought they were for protection? Like turning and not seeing a bollard it would hit the side bar first and you would feel it. Don't plan on hitting any bollards mind you but that's what I thought they were for as opposed to aesthetics

I was not a sidebar fan but when the new angled bars appeared i really liked them. Much prefer them to the round . All personal choice as we are all different

Like to see decent side steps that project further than straight bars and are often longer and run wheel to wheel. Stainless IMHO look better with darker colours and when matched with roof rails really set off a van. Black works on the lighter colours and red. It's all about contrast I suppose and "framing" the van as a picture.

Had them fitted to the last Cali after the wife clipped a low wall.
Proper OEM ones; they scratched easily, were a PITA to clean and I don't reckon they added much real protection.
So not got them on this one.

I don't know what the latest is. Last I heard was they are selling them but you have to prove you have a sportline.

It's a sad statement to make but.... the arrival of my Exploria bed signals the end of my tinkering with the van. I'm happy with it as it is. I've run out of cash as well!!
