Sideways Sleeping

I like the idea of the sprinter-like width wise bed. Opens up design/storage possibilities. Especially if you want to have a bike ‘garage’ in there though this would need to be a front wheel off sliding drawer type.

Something like this and disguise it as a Defender type side box perhaps?

The Sprinter world has a number of solutions to this, including a slide out side panel.

There's various issues with doing this on a T6, which is probably why no-one makes them. Mainly, even with a LWB you'd struggle to fit a double bed in the rear window area. Then the sliding door clearance would be incredibly tight. And you'd need about 20cm extra as I think the T6 is only 170cm wide at the bottom of the window level. And putting the bed at that level means you can't sit up in it.

Am I wrong to think (with the freezer turned off, obviously!) that you'd get a cracking nights sleep in one of them? All nice aand snuggled up, no noisy neighbours either... :D

During my only time in one I never got much sleep. I had to be ready to spring "back to life" when the drawer was opened for the probationer to ID me.

Reminds me of James May and the Dull men series 1 episode 3, the telephone box.
If you’ve seen it you’ll know what I mean.

I often think that.
I had to have an MRI on head and neck once and was it might be very claustrophobic, loud and to press a button they handed me if I wanted it to stop - nonproblem, everyone presses it etc.. I had a lovely chill out and was a bit miffed I had to leave.
Having said that I once almost fell asleep during a root canal.

I may don´t get it but is the window/flap open?
I guess there would be fabric around it all, like a no attire side on pop top?

Would dealing be an issue when closed? Wind over the gap around the edges at motorway speed would act as in a way to suck the panel out a bit.

Or is this out the rear window?

Must be the side window if you’re sleeping sideways.
I stick with my forty winks and the pop top for now.
