As per the title I'm looking to make my van liveable for the odd night away for two people. The van is a SWB and currently sound deadened, insulated & carpeted. I would like to fit some form of folding bed, water tank and leisure battery/possible hook up.
The challenge I have is that I tend to travel with two 8ft surfboards and a 6ft shortboard so these would have to go under the bed when folded out and I would also like the possibility of two bikes on the odd occasion (not at same time as the boards). Keeping this kit externally isn't an option as they are too valuable.
Anyone built anything that fits this design brief? I don't mind getting stuck in and making things and doing work just looking for an idea of the best van layout....obviously a pop-top would be the ideal but would like not to go down that route just now until we know we will actually use it enough to justify.
Would love to see anything people have built.
