Sky Canvas Stiffeners/Battens

Hi all, need some guidance. We have a Reimo easy fit roof with a sky canvas. Toward the rear of the canvas on either side are long slim stitched pockets running from bottom of the canvas to the top. In each pocket are two plastic strips/battens, one at the top of the pocket and one at the bottom. In the right pocket( as you look toward the back of the van from inside the pop top) both battens are flat. In the left hand pocket the top batten is flat but the bottom batten is bent at a 90° angle at the top and when you close the roof this digs into the mattress. We've never used the pop top bed to sleep in and went up there just to check the canvas and window zips so not sure if the batten is supposed to be bent or not. We've not had any problems closing the roof so there's been nothing to cause concern before.

Mine did exactly the same on the same side. I took out the piece from the good side for measurement and then made another one. I had a paint roller tray that I used the base of to cut another. Slotted it into the space on the bent side. It works as it is supposed to. Basically it will have bent when the roof was dropped and the sides not being fully in. I do not recall ever doing that though, I do know though, according to a converter, it isn't supposed to be bent. It is there to help fold the sides in.

Thank you. We will do the same. Can't remember dropping our roof either so it's a mystery how it's bent but at least I now know it shouldn't be!
