Slider struggles to power-open in cold weather

Hi everyone,

I’ve have a T6 Camperking conversion and have discovered an intermittent fault with the sliding door.

On some occasions (but mainly on cold / freezing mornings) I blip the key which turns the headlights on and opens all the doors apart from the sliding side door. Both the outside handle and inside latch can be pulled open but the door won’t budge. It also will not open when using the key in the lock instead.

I've sometimes managed to get in the van and then lock and unlock the doors using the internal lock button on the drivers door which releases the sliding door, but this doesn’t always work.

I’m trying to figure out if this is an issue with the contacts on the door or something with the central locking system.

Has anyone had a similar experience and have any words of wisdom?

Thanks in advance.

I have had it where the door is frozen shut and the electrics can not slide it as it takes too much force - but thats really cold mornings (-3 to -5'C)

Not sure if this is your issue?

I had the same only the weekend before last - can't remember the exact temperature but there was a frost. In the end, I gave it a shove via the inside handle and then got my fingertips in a small gap which formed at the other end. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have tried to force it but had to do its on that occasion. Maybe somebody could suggest something that you could spray on the rubber etc.as a preventative measure for the future.
