SMEV sink chopping board

Ash Chopping Boards
Hi Everyone
I’ve been making chopping boards for a living now for a couple of years.
I’m playing with the idea of making chopping boards for the SMEV campervan sink but before I start I’m just checking to see if there’s a market for it first.
If you comment below I’m not going to hold you into buying 1 I’m just trying to find out how much interest there is

Some converters turn the piece they cut out of the worktop to fit the sink into a chopping board.
That’s fine if it is actually big enough to chop anything up and keep it on the board and not on the floor.

That’s all well and good, I’ve attached 2 photos of some normal chopping boards that could be cut to fit into the sink just to add something a little different inside a campervan

as a woman, I would say there is defo a market for anything that extends the work surface when cooking / doubling up as board / pot trivet etc... had to make my own solution for our Thetford Topline 111 cocker/sink unit. Found a heatresistant black chopping board with near enough perfect dimensions, rounded off the bottom right corner and cut out top right corner for the tap, repositioned one of the rubber feet... not perfect but practical 20210626_121834.jpg20210626_121907.jpg

I’d be up for one if the price is right. Good place to store a chopping board and use it as both a chopping board and a worktop protector but I (ahem her indoors) think £35 as in this example, is too pricey.

I ordered a chopping board from a company that specialises in campervan equipment to use as a template, the board I received was machine made which I paid £35, I couldn’t believe what poor quality it was it felt like it hadn’t seen a bit of sandpaper, the boards I would be selling would be handmade and sanded until they are as smooth as glass, they may be cheaper £35 but until I make the first board I can’t confirm the price

I find a wooden board impractical in a campervan, even with 70L of water capacity I don’t want to be wasting it scrubbing stains out of a wooden board.
Go plastic and light is my advice.

The concept sounds good, but if you’re using the sink & the hob, you have to find somewhere to put the (potentially dirty) chopping board whilst you use the sink. If, as in our case, you have the glass tops to the hob/sink, you already have a built in solution for extra workspace as and when needed.
Just my 2 penneth.

We use a bucket for washing up, doing it in the sink is a PITA and creates additional mess that needs cleaning afterwards.
Dirty stuff inc the chopping board goes straight in the bucket and leaves the table, worktop and sink free.
Kettle of warm water and it’s soaking while we eat.
