Snapped Rib swivel seat handle

Good day,
Has anyone experienced the red handle snapping off their Rib swivel seat base?

No, I have a RIB pax seat swivel base no problems. However, I do have a RIB ALTAIR rock n roll 130cm seat and 1st time in use the welding of the ratchet assembly to the frame of the seat base broke away - had to strip the seat base down and have it re- welded. The guy fhat did my welding said that the original weld had not penetratrated the steel enough to effectively create a weld.

Morning all,
Generally the base has been great. It’s only been installed for a few months.
Please see photos.
The design of the handle is lovely but not structurally strong!

Bottom picture looks like a rub mark from operating the seat which would mean it's touching and maybe put under pressure when the seat is sat on
Plus it is a crap design why not do it out of solid metal or is it to save a few grams
