So far trés bien

So after cutting it somewhat fine we took delivery of our Chestnut Brown T6 150 Highline DSG Kombi on Friday (Huge thanks to Chris at Swiss Vans for pulling out all the stops and making it happen) and decided the best shakedown drive would be 650 miles across France yesterday!

I have to say the T6 is a big step forward compared to my T5.1 180 manual. Lovely to drive, 150 has plenty of go, cruised at 130 kph no problem - the DSG box is great and cab noise is car like in comparison (went for cab carpet & 'additional noise suppression' whatever that is). Really pleased I went for the Comfort Dash option too although the USB is in a daft place. Still getting my head around the Discover Nav and its various features but streamed podcasts from phone via Bluetooth with no problem. Looks like we have a MY18 van with Front Assist (not yet tested thankfully) and it seems to 'read' variable speed limit signs which is great. The led headlights appear to be set a little high but luckily arrived in the Alps before I upset too many locals!

Usual 13 hour trip from Sunny Suffolk to misty Alpe d'Huez but arrived fresh as a daisy last night. Looking forward to getting to know the new van over the coming days, got a few trips planned but so far trés bien!

As we were coming round Grenoble which has gantry mounted variable speed limits like the M25 the Nav screen displayed the correct speed limit immediately. My wife's Kia Sportage does the same using a camera so assume the T6 has similar technology or maybe its somehow linked to the traffic info?
