Hi
I'm going to apply some sound deadening but I really don't want to start removing door cards. Is it worth while just doing the back interior panels and roof.........or am I wasting my time if I don't do the doors too? Can anyone recommend a product that doesn't cost a fortune......I know dynamat seems to be the gold standard. I just want to do anything I reasonably can before I send it for lining out. Am I right in thinking you don't have to cover the whole of the panel?
Thanks

50% coverage is best value more than 50% costs increase faster than deadening gain going over 80% makes virtually no difference
Having said that I covered everything I could get to on mine

I covered all the side panels and tailgate in mine, didn't bother with floor and cab area, as im happy with the results. So just one box of silentcoat for me .

100% coverage and then some makes a huge difference with 300w through each door midbass.

20% is all that's needed top be very effective.

Have only done the rear panels and wheel arches and it helped a lot prior to starting the fit out. Also did above the front windscreen as I had the head lining out to fit pop top. There are alternative products to Dynamat that are half the price, Mine was ‘Happy Tiger’ from China where I suspect it all comes from

With a decent install and more power the sound with be less distorted, reduced clipping from the amp, etc. A decent install doesn't mean you will listen at full volume,.

Oh err need a translation music systems appear to have moved on since my 8 track
Oh yes an 8 track, I remember at the age of 7 getting an old one from my cousin, who had installed a state of the art compact cassette stereo, in his mk1 ford escort. Not sure I would want the 8 track back, but I would kill for his old sky blue escort, bloody lovely:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Is it easy to remove the tailgate door card? I really aren't brave enough to do the front door cards.....or the roof lining, but I DO want to have a go at the rest of the interior which looks dead straight forward. Am I spoiling the ship for hapeth of tar if I don't do the doors and roof (front AND back)?

Front doors are an absolute bitch, if your not confident/dont have a lot of experience taking things apart IMHO i wouldnt touch them
Rear internal panels are easy enough in back two thirds, only two ceiling lights to disconnect if you want to do the rear 2 roof panels
Rear tailgates not too bad just a wire to internal door release and two screws in the loop handle thats it

Thanks Pauly........you've confirmed what I thought! Not sure I even want a pro to do the doors.......from past experience, things never seem to go back the same way.....broken clips etc. I think I'll forget about the doors.
Cheers mate!
