Sportline tyres on Shuttle underrated?

Four weeks ago I purchased my 66 plate lwb shuttle from dealers , as part of the deal I had them fit sportline alloys with tyres upon delivery . It was brought to my attention this weekend that the 235/50r18 101w tyres should in fact be 255/45r18 103t as the lwb shuttle is a t32 vehicle . I will be contacting them shortly as I have concerns regarding any insurance issues should a claim ever arise . Do you think these should be replaced or are the ones supplied legal ?

100% they have made a mistake, and because it's a 3200kg and subject to a different MOT, it is illegal (I think) and not road worthy.
Let us know what they say

If your vehicle is a T32 then they have made a mistake and 100% they will need to replace those tyres, it's not the tyre size that's the problem it's the load rating (or lack off !)
255/45/18 is the recommended (by VW) size for those Sportline wheels and T32 vehicles but it's not mandatory however the load rating is, they have technically made your vehicle unroadworthy and an MOT failure

Hi , our 2016 T32 LWB Shuttle has a gross vehicle weight of 3080kg with individual axle weights of 1680 kg and 1600 kg. Also the plate which shows tyre pressures lists various tyres with load ratings from 101 to 104, so your 101 tyres may be ok after all.
I would suggest you check the tyre pressure plate and axle load plate on your own vehicle.

Which would suggest a tyre minimum rear axel tyre load rating of 102; as a 101 would be 825kg*2= 1650kg max axel load.
I thought that a T6 t32 had a higher rear axel max load?

I thought that a T6 t32 had a higher rear axel max load of 1720kg rear = 103 minimum tyre

Caravelles and shuttles don't always seem to conform to the T30/T32 standards they seem to come with in between weight ratings dependant on spec

I think any of the T6's using the T32 afix (shuttles included) have the 1710F-1720R max axel loads.
The caravelle is a 3080kg max vehicle with lower axel loads, but doesn't use a T32 afix.
