Standard head unit usb temperamental ?

Hi all. I’ve a 3.5 year old t6.1 with standard head unit (pic attached). For some odd reason the two usb c below the drive lever have become very temperamental. Plug a lead in to my phone get a connecting message for second or two then goes and won’t connect Carnt get CarPlay up. Plus a usb with mp3 files in says reading usb for a second message goes carn access it. Tried three leads and 2 usb sticks to no avail, numerous resets of radio, media, all to factory to no avail Carnt even charge my phone. Been working fine for prob 2 years anyone any ideas ? Driving me mad

Do you regularly unplug leads from the usb port?

iPhone 12 been no issues at all until maybe a week ago and yeah if I leave a usb memory stick with mp3 in it when I park up, when I restart the head unit powers up crashes restarts powers crashes and repeat until it powers up with memory stick out. Very odd that one always done it
