Hi all, I’m looking for some help with my broken van

T6 bi turbo 4 motion 2018

Van was in regular use over the summer, then left for a couple of months and was a little reluctant starting so I charged the battery

Couple of journeys, everything was fine,

After a long journey started the van a couple of times and then warning lights on the dashboard Van would start and then stop within a couple of seconds

Charged battery, then had the same problem

Charge battery and set off on long journey, within 5 miles warning lights on dashboard came on, kept going and made it home

Charged battery same fault again.

replaced AMG battery and coded

Same problem again, vehicle starts and runs but then after stopping starts and stops within a few seconds

I have listed the error code below. Hope this means something

Data bus error

08208

08216

08217

08338

Engine fault

27202 sensor reference voltage

(A) circuit open

any advice would be gratefully received thanks

So if you have to charge the battery after a 5 mile journey is it possible that the alternator is goosed?
Hence having the same flat battery symptoms every time. Then a fully charged battery gets you 5 miles.
That's just a bit of a guess but I'm sure someone with more mechanical knowledge will add their thoughts.

Seams like the Lights LiN bus wire maybbe damaged for the alternator.?

Or maybe the battery sensor is knackered?

Post a few pics of the battery and connections.

And some voltage readings of the battery at rest. And with the engine ticking over.

Hi guys thanks for the replies
I was chatting to an auto electrician who said disconnect the battery in case it has a short
I've charged the main battery again and tried to start the vehicle it starts and then stops after about two seconds so I can't check the alternator is working with a voltmeter
I've just checked the voltage on the factory fitted leisure battery it's Reading 12 V after connecting it to a battery charger realized it was pretty flat so I've put it on an overnight charge the leisure battery only powers some internal led lights
I've had a quick look around and I can't see any damage to the wiring but can't get the vehicle running now to get a voltage reading
If anybody knows somewhere with a good reputation I can take this vehicle to get it looked at appreciate any recommendations I'm near Crewe
In advance
