Stealth Poptop broken gas strut

HI Everyone,

I have a stealth B2 Poptop and one of the side gas struts has broken, I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it but it broke the first time we put it back up. Major pain getting there and hanging around also the wife won't let me take it back to be fixed only to break again as our next outing is the south of France and don't want to risk having a faulty roof. I have tried to find company's that fix roofs but I can only find one in Devon which is a few hundred miles away. Any suggestions on how to sort the problem out. I have no idea about the struts or if I need to make a new bracket to fix it on with but keep drawing blanks when I try to find anything.

Can you post some pictures?
Have the struts popped off the mounts?
Have the end fittings broken?
Have the brackets at the roof or the van end broken?
Is the strut losing pressure but still attached?

What is the specification on the strut? Is it the same on both sides?

SGS are a good place to get struts, I ordered some this morning (car tailgate struts corroded, and my van bifold bed struts need more force to hold up the bigger mattress).

Is it not under warranty still? Usually 5 years with pop tops

Yeah will do ! stupidly I didn't take any before a pulled the roof down as its a night mare to get up and back down. From what I can tell the mounting plate which looks like the structure for the whole roof has broken so it might need welding or something like that but I will need to get a big set of ladders to look at it properly but all the struts look knackered!

Edit - that part number comes up as a custom strut and to fill in a form or call their technical dept - 01604 499332

Cheers, I took of the strut of this morning and it looks like the bracket it screws into is knackered
