Steels + Vector 4 season

I looked into getting steels either 17 or 18” a while back but I can’t remember why I aborted buying, but I’m nearing needing some new tyres so picking up again…

Maybe I concluded I needed banded in order to have vector 4 seasons cargo? (we camp so need a good all rounder and they have been good for us on the stock 16”), and we also have VBair to consider.

what options do I have?

Plenty of choice in all-season tyres in 17in. We have crossclimate 2 in standard 235/55/17 size which seem decent. We also happen to have VB Air too, but I don’t think that matters much for tyre choice.

just to confirm I’m looking for the wheels too, I like the look of these but not sure if they are amorak and if I need them banded? I wouldn’t object to going down to 17” either, it’s just where to get either from too.

Have cross climates in my Panda 4x4 they are great but read vectors edge it for t6 - no need to debate that

I've got some 18" steels that you can have banded to your own specs and they are shod with sub400 mile khumo's. So maybe I can be persuaded to separate them?

Not sure why you’d need them banded? As far as I know, banding is basically for aesthetics. If you do get any wheels banded though, make sure whoever is doing it knows what they’re doing - you don’t want a bad job there!

Standard T6 17in steels would be fine, I’m not sure about 18in steels - maybe you do need amaroks for that?

Hi there,

My van has been built for rubbly, bumpy, muddy, gravelly tracks and I'm more then happy sticking to the standard 17" steel wheels with the rather catchy named Hankook RA30 Vantra AS2 215/60 r17c which seem great value. These are now happily dragged me around many unsurfaced tracks (as you can see in a couple of vids here).

But some like bigger wheels and more chunky tyres and I have no beef with that at all - the whole point of the van is to do what makes you happy! But please make sure whatever you choose are the right load rating and you tell your insurance company if differing from stock.

I don’t know why either, perhaps the tyres I was hoping to run wasn’t available for the amaorak width at the time? Can someone confirm?

We got 16” at the mo, would prefer 17, will check out those tyres

Oh and it’s pepperpots I’m wanting, I think this was the issue is finding them in 17” preferably

In that case, check out Tuff Torque steels - although they might be black only?
