hi guys, need a specialist in the south west to swap my standard steering wheel for a high line wheel, would like buttons to work and light up when Head lights come on.

Any recommendations would be appreciated
Got the wheel and two sets of wires I have no idea what they are for

I’m in Plymouth if you need a hand but prob some one closer who could do it in Bristol or maybe @Absolut5 not sure how far you are from him ?

That’s great if no one closer I will come down could you DM me cost, are there any additional things I need to swap it and make buttons light up and work?

Provided you have the correct loom/wiring then there’s nothing else required
If we can work a time to do it I will do it for free (I never say no to a few beers though ;)) and could be a good opportunity to take a few photos of the process to make a how to guide for the forum ?

That’s a fantastic offer thanks, I have no idea what looms I have or if there correct, bloke from vagnostic said this is what i need, need to no I’m coming down with the correct stuff, can you help make sure I bring the correct bits down ? What would be the best day of the week for you?

Post a pic of the wheel/buttons you have and the part number of the loom you have, not worried about the small cables I can make them on the day if needs be

Timings really depend when you want to come, I spend most days out on site during the week but am normally around the office a few times a week but will be working on it outside so needs to be a dry day ideally as will need the drivers door open for a while

Good morning Pauly here is the sticker that was on the loom don’t know if that helps will you need part number of the steering wheel as well? Let me no if I need anything else.

Another good chap who does a lot of steering wheel swaps is Matt @ VW T5 upgrades. Really top guy and he travels about most weeks I believe fitting.

Im not really bothered if the buttons work would just like them to light up when head lights come on, what do you what vehicle have the buttons come from you lost me there

If the buttons came from a T6 (or recent polo) then they should work but if they are out of a golf 7/passat for example they will not work as they use different signals

The add on eBay says multi function steering wheel for VW Transporter 2016- I bought it from VW van centre Birmingham through eBay.

@Pauly hi mate, having thought about timing to come down for the wheel fit looks like best time is May long way of yet i no but are you happy with that can pin a day down closer to the time all i need is a list of stuff to bring with me.

Just give me a shout closer to the time and we can figure something out

I'm a bit confused by this thread. It mentions a Golf7 steering wheel will not work, however Matt from the T5 upgrades has assured me that a Golf 7 steering wheel will be a plug and play in my T6.
