Can you and are you actually supposed to open the tailgate if you have a bike rack with a couple of bikes on it?

Yes you can open it but no you are not meant to . With uprated struts mine will stay open with one bike but not with two.

Ok cheers, would only ever have a 2 light road bikes on in reality.

Will I definitely need to uprate the struts if I get a bike rack regardless then?
