This is my van at the moment. Pretty standard apart from the swamper wheel….

This is my previous van. I changed the front bumper, rear bumper, wing mirrors, wheel arch trims and cause it was white, provided a nice contrast to all the black trim

I’m wondering how to add a bit more of a swamper look to the back van.

Might fit a rear spare wheel carrier.
Not sure wheel arch trims would look good on a black van?
Might add a front bumper bar

Spare wheel carrier/ladder.

Rear mounted carrying system for levelling blocks, etc.

Arch trims, side cladding.

Lazer lights.

If you really want to go for it...

A minor lift

Snorkel

I wouldn’t add any stick on bits to your new van…. looks great as it is in my opinion. ‘Less is more’ as they say!

What wheels are they @dave_b ? Zephyrs? Look great.

It definitely harder to get the full swamper look with a black van. Think wheel carrier is a good shout.

Lazer light would be next on my list.

Arch trim for me does give that swamper look but as you say might get lost.

But as other say less might be more here.

So yeah, maybe less is more, but, I still think front bumper bar, maybe also add some fog lights and the rear wheel carrier.

Agree about the springs, I have been thinking it’s a bit low at the back.

It is 2cm lower at the back.

I think I may raise it and put some OEM rear mudflaps (I like them) and the front bumper bar.

Mud flaps can get in the way off road mine often rub and occasionally tearaway. I think in hind sight, I would have removed them for all the good they do. The large rubber tail flaps that some rally cars have or had probably would work better, say if suspended from the rear bumper across the whole width. It would certainly keep allot of the s---e off the rear window.

Mine is sort of similar to yours, just wheels and a roof rack added. Being a Caravelle I also have a load of chrome.

My plans are all or some of the following:

Arch trims
Yellow fog light tint
Lazer lamps
Light bar
Front runner rear ladder

This is my van. 40mm lower springs than standard on 255/45/18 tyres on MoMo wheels.

Would swamper tyres look good and also improve ride comfort?

Would it make fuel consumption worse?

235/55 18 Cooper ATs on mine. No issues with the arches. Nice and quiet, fairly neutral with with grip and handling.

All train tyres would likely increase fuel consumption/ Heavier stiffer particularly XL 108 load capacity. Ride at that capacity likely to be stiffer though psi will be lower, so giveth with one hand taketh away with the other. Better off road of course tougher and can be found with 3PM&S. Though if not going to use them as intended a waste of best part of £thousand and would be better spent on the best set of AT tyres. though some of the less aggressive AT tyres might not be quite so noisy especially after a few thousand miles.

Thank you. What's thr definition of an AT (all terrain) as opposed to swamper tyre?

There is none.

Any kind of chunky looking tyre is suitable for the Swapler look.

Some prefer 3PMS all weather tyres, some are happy with ATs. I can confirm from personal experience that Cooper ATs are not at all noisy and have been behaving well in all conditions thus far, including snow.

They are M+S rated, although that's not as automatic a guarantee of crap weather performance as 3PMS boots.

However, it's also not an automatic Indicator or an inferior foul weather performance either. It's simply a manufafturer applied designation rather than a legislative category.

Some are equally good performers as 3PMS marked hoops in the sheet, some aren't, and the only way of knowing is trying them yourself or via feedback from those that have. 3PMS gives a legally defined assurance of snow performance, M+S does not and you need to take the latter on a case by case basis.

Which coopers are you running ? We have AT3's on our pickup and they're laughable in the wet (on a rear wheel drive with no weight over the axle) .
