Hi all,
I have converted a van before but doing this one a bit differently. Has anyone fitted the CBE style USB and Dimmer switches/sockets in the D pillar at the rear of the van? Id like to carpet the whole van so in my mind id rather fasten a piece of wood behind then carpet over the top rather than put a piece of wood in front.
Has anyone done anything like this before? Its a LWB if it makes a difference.

Cheers Sam

Sam, I can't help with your query I'm afraid but if you've managed to get behind your LWB D-pillar cover and it's still open, could you post a photo/photos please? I'm considering fitting the rearmost seats and want to know more about the belt fixings before starting to jump in. Cheers

Are any of the six (three each side) holes in the 'D' pillar in a useful place for you to use, if so why not use the genuine VW clip in blanking plates to fit your switches?

Yes, I appreciate that they are not quite in the D pillar but maybe useful. The clip in trims are part number 7H3 853 215 (Y20) the Y20 is the colour but I think that is the only option. All six are the same part number.

There are also two for the tailgate hinge access holes in the cross member if you want to make it look 'posh'.
