T5.1 steering rack part numbers - how much fun is this! ;)

howdy Ladies and Gents scorchio outside, but here at the ranch I'm inside and have been for hours searching for the correct new non genuine rack for my T5.1 that the part number required is a 7E1422061R. however, its a nightmare as the ones that carry this number seem to be listed for many other variants, and another racks with the suffix P at the end are available and cost effective without selling out to cheap parts too much but I'm unsure if any of the other part numbers which are the same but just have a different suffix at the end would also fit, may be they are a superseded version?

has anyone any experience in purchasing a rack for their bus and it had a different suffix at the end of the same part number? or has anyone been in the same boat with their 5.1 dsg btdi?

The 7E1 parts are left hand drive. For RHD you need 7E2...which particular part you want depends if you have "servotronic" or not. "7E1422061R" is LHD, non-servotronic

hi, thanks, yes i have lhd, without servotronic (2012) and I am sure that all that is correct along with the PN's I've stated, but i would really like to know if the P at the end or any other suffix at the end of the Part number will also fit ?? its rather confusing (to me) as i see the same PN i require but listed for other spec and different years, and this leads me to believe another PN with d different suffix at the end may also fit? ( i may be and probably am wrong )

Just had a look. 7E1422061R is the newer part to 7E1422061P so they're the same. There's no part with a "D" suffix, except possible track rod ends.

For your LHD you should be good with 7E1422061R

cheers, finding a decent R' is a problem, there are plenty of others and P was one that Heritage Parts can get for a fair price. So You are sure they are one in the same?

That's the current UK retail price via TPS. There's a slightly cheaper exchange price but still expensive!
