T6.1 ACC unavailable

Hi all, decided to upgrade my headlights and popped off the bumper and loosened the slam panel, upgrade went ok but have developed an ACC unavailable fault with ‘front assist unavailable’ as well. Popped my Christa in and got a fault code on ACC of 196725, tried a reset and got a message of ‘ fault was reset successfully but came back’. No other faults shown. The only connector I saw to disconnect was the fog light cable, nothing was or is loose or hanging off. I am planning to take it for a drive tomorrow evening to see if it pulls it’s act together. But can anyone shed any light on this for a confused first time transporter owner…

May or may not help

I'm no expert but my understanding is this...

You may have inadvertently moved the FA sensor out of alignment OR not got the black square sensor cover seated exactly back over it properly so the sensor cant 'see' correctly as per snow/extra paint layer/muck/heavy rain covering it.

If its out of alignment it will need setting back up properly.

I have dropped an endoscope down the back of it, I cannot see anything obvious, I will be removing the bumper again this weekend and seeing what I find….

196725 - Sensor for Automatic Distance Regulation; Incorrectly Positioned

Was the battery disconnected?
Did you turn ignition on when bumper cover was off?

Definitely worth doing.

Some similarities e.g. here:

Uh-oh, when I replaced the headlamps I wanted to check that the lamps were all working, all also needed to turn the steering to get at the various mounting fasteners, so yes I switched on the ignition with the bumper off…

And it did not pull its act together…..
