T6.1 Battery Discharge

Good Morning, yesterday I was working in the back of my van sound deadening the sliders, it is a T6.1 T32 2022, and I switched off the courtesy lights and the key was not in the ignition. I was opening/closing the sliders and had the tailgate open and was probably working in the back for about 3 hours. When I had finished, the van would not start and I had to get a jump start from my partners car. Any idea what would be draining my battery in this scenario?

Possibly due to lots of short journeys?

So the battery was only semi charged when you started work.

Could be worth getting a battery charger hooked up for 24hrs to get the battery back up again.

Thanks @Dellmassive sounds like a good idea although I did a 250 mile round trip on Friday and yesterday, I was working in the back of the van again for about 3 hours with both sliders open and courtesy lights off, and once again it would not start without a jump start from my partners car. Does anyone know what drain there would be with the van unlocked, no key in the ignition, courtesy lights off and sliding doors open? If it makes any difference, my sliders have soft close but I never closed the doors, so don't think it is anything to do with this.

- the van should go to sleep after 15-30mins . . and will use nect to no power. assuming all the lights are off.

but opening or closing a door will wake it all uk again.

sound like you battery has a very poor state of charge & possibly health.

look at getting yourself a jump starter pack to stop all the jump leads + car stuff. . .

....

short-cut

buy one of these . . .

the other thing to look at is to make sure that there are no cables connected to the battery NEG post... - a common mistake by installers.

post a pic of your starter battery and we can take a look.
