T6.1 Discover Media add small amp?

Just picked up a ‘23 plate T6.1 Cali with Discover Media headunit.

Blimey, the sound system is awful! So weak.

I have a small digital kenwood amp from my old T6 Kenwood KAC-M1814 4 Channel Compact Digital Speaker Amplifier 400 Watt which I brought from @Absolut5

I’m trying not to get into this too much and starting installing subs etc again as not planning on having the vehicle too long!

Can i use this amp? Will it retain the rear speakers and fader, I also have this from my T6 Audison USS4 Universal 4 Channel Speakers Simulator Presence Load Inte

Finally, is there room to install it behind the unit / dash? I really struggled to fit it with the T6

Yes it will plug in , work and retain fader if you code the h/u

The amp can sit behind the centre console directly under the discovery media main unit

Thanks. You made a custom loom for for the T6.

Assume I can re-use that, but adjust the wiring.

Just checking, is the quad lock on the back of the Discover Media unit (or the box under it)?

I’ve seen pictures of a unit behind the glovebox.

Hoping it’s just the box under it so only have to remove 2 bits of trim

From another post I see that the main unit is actually behind the glovebox.

Will the amp for there? Or I think what you’re suggesting is that I’ll need to remove the screen as well and fit the amp behind it.

The main unit is behind the centre console, you need to remove the glovebox, centre console to get to the cable

The amp will sit behind the centre console , loads of room

Thanks. Do I need the Audison USS4 to retain the rear fader like in the T6?

Not sure what you mean about coding the rear speakers ( I do have VCDS) as I already have rear speakers fitted.
