T6.1 Drivers side air vent removal

Hey my drivers side air vent in my T6.1 seems to be stuck closed so I’d like to take it out to fix it. Does it just pop out on clips or any screws holding it in ? It doesn’t seem to move too much when I try with a little pressure with a trim removal tool.

Just wondering if you ever got anywhere with this one? I am going to be replacing both the driver's and passenger side vents soon and could do with an idea how they come out myself.

View attachment 281034I didn’t take them out in the end. I figured out it was the central wire in the vent that was caught so I prised it up and heard a click and working perfect ever since. If you figure it out post it up here so it might help someone else out.

I couldn’t find anything online about removing them. You could maybe call to your local VW dealer and ask them. They might help you out.

Plastic pry too. Just clipped in.
Sometimes easier to remove the side window vent first which just unclips, then helps with access behind.

Good stuff. Same as mine now. Just need the matching dash trims above glove box now
