Anyone know where you can pick up predrilled T6.1 Gloss Black Awning Rail.
The ones that fit into the roof bar shuttle, preferably the ones that a shaped either end.

Thanks,
Mike

I've been looking into this myself Mike. Conclusion I've come to is that I'll likely have to buy the awning rail and get it power coated black before fitting (which I'm guesstimating would cost about £20). Click into the pictures of the post I've quoted below from another forum member who has done this (and it looks great).

Good options seem to be be either Funky Leisure (VW Awning Rails & Drive-Away Connection Kits), or Camper Essentials (VW T5 T6 Bolt On Awning Rail – Camper Essentials).

The Camper Essentials version looks sleeker/more hidden if you don't have roof rails to also contend with, but if you have roof rails, the Funky Leisure roof rails version is probably less hassle.

@kg1709 - you've gone down the route of power coating a Funky Leisure awning rail mate - couple of questions for you pal. 1. How's the powder coating holding up after inserting and removing an awning kador strip a few times? 2. Any tips for popping out the rubber bungs on the top of the Leighton roof rails (i.e. in the second picture of your post that I've quoted below)? I've had a half-hearted little tickle with a trim tool but they're not coming out easily and I don't want to damage them.

Old thread but in case it helps anyone, I've have fitted the pre-drilled C-Channel rail that sits under roof bars from Funky Leisure but had it powder coated black first to match my van. Looks very subtle. Trying it out for real this weekend.

Yes it was the Camper Essentials ones i liked the look of the most so have ordered two already and they are going for paint next week.

Good work Mike - would love to see some photos when you've got them back from paint and fitted them  Hope all goes well.

Hi @Jimbob76 - so far the powder coating is standing up very well, it has been used a handful of times only so far though so time will tell. I asked @ChrisR @The Van Cave to install the rail as it was inside the van while the van was in for other work so I'm hoping he will be able to answer that one! Cheers.
