T6.1 Heater temperature stuck

I have a T6.1 Startline (2020) model that is delivering a set warm temperature no matter where I turn the temperature dial to.

Having removed as many panels as I could from the Drivers side I have taken the below picture.
I have followed a previous thread to investigate the control arm under the dashboard on the Drivers side. (New 3D Printed spare part by Tony)
Moving this arm does change the temperature output from the vents and I can achieve both cold and hot settings.

Any help appreciated on what I am looking for to assist in diagnosing the issue would be greatly appreciated.

This is the part you require . VW well aware of the issue. Mine was done under warranty. Can be done without removing the whole dash. The 6.1 part differs from earlier Transporters. As a temporary measure ( once you have exposed the heater) you can manually move the flap to a cooler position by pushing it with a screwdriver.

Thanks Robert - I have unscrewed and rotated what I assume to be the servo........ I can clearly see my broken part compared to your picture above.

VERY fiddly under there, but hoping that new part will slide on and the servo is easy to swing round to the right position ????

£31.38 for that part at my local (Peterborough) VW Dealership....... collected as it was in stock (2 others in stock but reserved for other customers this week)
Just need to work out how to remove and refit !!

Two bits of plastic that they know is a design fault but still see fit to charge for their poor design Typical of all car manufacturers. They told me it was a 3 day job as dash had come out! In the end it was done the same day no dash out
Latest issue I have is both heated mirrors have failed and the cooling fan is on all the time !

Morning all.

This is my first post. After reading all the posts about the same issue, I have yet to find the correct part number for the attached photo.

I’ve taken the servo motor out for new lever and arm for the service which broke. I also need the other white plastic (see photo) as a tab has broken. The dealer ordered me a part which is totally different

Well there's a job I never want to do again.!! Thankyou to all the posters on the T6 forum as I'd have been coughing up a load of cash to have it done otherwise. The skin on my knuckles will grow back and my heating and AC are working A1 again. Only regret is not buying the 3D printed version, albeit the job will be easier second time around. Thanks team 👊🏼

Hi Ian, I'm in Bolton so a bit of a way off. Sorry I didn't take any photos as I was panicking I may not get everything back together and I need the van tomorrow, so didn't want to waste time. I followed the instructions on another T6 forum thread about removing the dashboard. Once the dashboard and thin trim above it is off you can remove the casing around the gear column. This then allows you too fully remove the trim panel.under the steering wheel. You also need to remove the headlight rotary switch ( turn it to 0, push it in then turn it to the right, it then pulls out ) all the switches, electricals and stuff unplug, just don't forget to plug back in. I didn't unplug the passenger airbag isolator switch but just left it hanging. If you do unplug it do not then start the ignition.

Once the panels are off you can see the two six millimetere screws that hold the servo in. With a six mill spanner you can remove these and the servo comes away. Swap out the broken plastic then reassemble. It's awkward as f*ck and requires a bit of dexterity, a headtorch and smallish hands. A had a set of trim tools already from amazon which are invaluable.

When you reassemble I believe if you have the temperature setting to cold you have the mechanism pushed to the rear. It worked for me and works now as it should. All in all it took about 2 to 3 hours, it would take less if I had to do it again.

Make sure you take the panels.of it that order as there are a couple of hidden screws, like the one just above the central cup holder that is hidden in plane sight.

Good luck brother 👍🏼👍🏼
