T6.1 springs…are they different from T6 ones or is it just the rubber isolator things?

I’ve just picked up a totally standard 2020 T32 Kombi (SWB). It’s used as a big car and not worked.

Previous vans have had factory suspension with dealer fit Eibach sportline springs from new. The ride on those has been firm and a bit bouncy but I didn’t dislike it tbh.

I’d like to lower this one ~40mm. Due to cost, I think springs would be fine. I’ve seen some kits come with extra bits of rubber (like the Eibach SoLows) where as some like the H&R don’t.

I’ve found a place selling the rear rubber ‘cups’ branded Eibach for £10 and another place selling the sort of clip on spring covers from Eibach for £15 which I could add to springs which didn’t come with them.

My question is, are these extra bits needed, and if so, why don’t all T6.1 spring kits come with them?!

Cheers,

The introduction of the T6.1 has complicated the after market spring industry because the spring seat on the front shock is 20 mm higher than a T6 . Mixing components from one model to another causes confusion and the usual one kit fits all scenario simply doesn't give the right result , Sticking a rubber tube on the bottom of the front spring simply helps it sit firmer in the mounting plate , it doesn't sort out the difference in height . Any spring stating one fita all and listing T5 T6 and T6.1 will not work well in all models .

Our kits have the proper sound deadening lower mount as per the VW kit we also have an uprated rear spring mount made of polyurethane to go with it .

The entire kit is £340.00 and it is the only spring that fits as per factory spec

Thanks for this. I actually didn’t know about these so purchased the SoLow Eibach kit. Had it fitted today, all good. I’m just not sure if there should be rubber mounts on the bottom of the rear springs as well as the top? It came with new top ones but no bottoms. My mechanic said the ones off the stock springs wouldn’t fit.

Cheers
