T6 - Alpine Halo 9 installation kit - part list ?

Hi,

Having just bought my first T6, one of the first jobs I want to do is replace the basic VW dab/cd player and the seperate Chinese reversing camera lcd screen that the previous owner used. My choice of unit is the alpine halo 9, however I’m not entirely sure what connection/conversion kits I need..

I saw one post someone mention APF-X320MIB but it seems that is more for T6.1 and you need a MFSW, which my T6 doesn’t, so I can’t use that.

Does anyone have a list (links?) of the parts I’ll need ?
if there’s an all in one kit that has everything I’ll need, including the surround, that’s great too ?

Hi,
I would recommend the guys from advanced-in-car technologies in Dorset.
You‘ll get all you need and find all information on their website.
They have a 45 Minute YT how-to which for me was a great help before installing the halo 9 in my van.

Yes , you are right, the YouTube video detailing the installation is really useful but I assume that it must be an old video as the new Alpine interface supports the vehicle Mike which isn’t the case in the video.

Yes, you are right, the actual can-Interface X303VW supports both oem rear camera and oem mic.

I saw the videos online showing you the install steps, which is great, based on those and other research, the install part list looks to be as follows
  • Alpine Car Stereo Installation Kit (KIT-7VWX303 or KIT-HALO-VW303, from £199 to £249)
  • OEM USB Retention (Variety out there, from £15 to £40 !!)
  • Male Fakra to SMB Female Antenna Adaptor (Variety out there £10 to £20)
  • Single Din Pocket (KTX-1-DIN - from £20 - £30, but looks like form some it can come as part of the installation pack)

So overall, it looks like all the extras will range from £250 - £350 (inc. postage), add to the alpine HALO9 ILX-F905D unit itself, which is from £749 to £929, all in you can land anywhere between £999 and £1,300 - and that’s assuming you’re installing it yourself..

I think your list is correct, although the pocket came with the installation kit. If you know what you need , then shop around, it made the job quite a lot more justifiable for me.
Halo 9 £671
Kit £176
Usb £33
Dab lead £8
Total £888 ( all inc free postage )

Hi @monty999 , those are great prices, where did you find those and are they with or without VAT?
Total prices all inclusive. Shopped around via the internet, couple of eBay commercial shops, ( when you’ve viewed and not bought, a couple of days later I got offer price on an email and a discount code, CEN is one I think, Car Audio and security was another, just have to wait for discount codes to be on, but I was in no rush so waited, I’m sure they’ll be back after Christmas).Road Radio for usb, Amazon for dab cable.

I did quite a bit of surfing too so that’s overall £100 less than I found although I did see the eBay one (seller = Audio for fun) was £699 but it had £25 P&P

I’be gone with a CarAudioDirect one that was on sale at £749 and their Alpine kit at £209. So in for £964 with P&P

You’re making me rethink though..

Where was the install kit at £176?

I think you just have to be lucky to land on a time when they offer the discounts. I got the Gladen speakers like that for £340 instead of £470. Just depends on if you’re willing to wait to save the dosh. Hope you get sorted as it is quite an expensive upgrade to do.

It was from Car Audio & Security ( their eBay store but it had a discount on at the time).
I know that ‘ Audio for fun’ was quite cheap but coming from Poland so I wasn’t sure about dealing with that one.

We keep stock of all the parts required to install the Alpine Halo 905 or 11

I‘d buy rather at @Absolut5 than trying to pick all the things you need (or think you need) at different places… prices may vary but surely it is not that big difference (if at all) - but then you have all the right stuff at one time and place and no need to worry if all the adapters fit.
Just my 5 cts

I bought my halo 9 on sale with the fitting kit, however the one supplied didn't work with my rear parking sensors. But thanks to @Absolut5 for the fast shipment on the correct one for my T6. Now need to sell the Connect2 wiring kit along with the din facia and pocket.

So the golden rule is pay the money for the Alpine fitting kit, it works as it should with the Alpine head unit.

Thanks all, agreed the advice I was given too was to get Alpine’s own VW (KIT-HALO-VW303) connection kit, so shopping around I ended up going with CarAudioDirect where all in - it came to @ £964 inc. P&P - I could get a VW Alpine connection kit cheaper elsewhere, but that seemed to be it came without the 2nd DiN tray etc. so perhaps not the cheapest, but it arrived this morning so that’s a very nice Xmas prezzie for me..
