T6 Fan

Hi All,

Recently upgraded from a T5 to a T6 and I am finding the fan is coming on a lot when I park. It can happen after short or long distances. No lights are coming up on the van and the temperature is sitting in the middle at 90. Just seems to happen a lot.

Anything to worry about?

Vans doing a dpf regen and not completing before you turn the engine off, it’s not uncommon and seems to do it more when new then ease up, mine used to smell like burnt rubber when this happened

Hi Pauly,

Would a light not show to say it was doing a DPF regen? As nothing is coming up on the dash, just when I stop the fan keeps going for a minute or so.

Was your tick over speed higher than normal before stopping? If so van was doing a dpf regen

Not really notice to be honest, so when a van does a DPF there is light on the dash?

No lights just higher tick over, little bit lumpy around 1500 rpm and start stop doesn't work

Then no, I am sitting at around 1000 rpm at lights and when I get home, switch the van off and fan is running for a minute

800 is standard 1000 means regen on mine at least, if it doesn't finish just starts again next time and again and again until it's done it, it's a pain if your not doing many long runs

Sounds like a regen, T6 does it a lot more than my T5 however first time with an engine with AdBlue.... I do at least two long runs a week around 2hrs a time

Mine seems to do about 2 per tank full of fuel on average and often will decide to start one at the end of a long journey which i've never worked out why
