Tru, they tend to run through the back, should be no issue. You'll probably find that the next seat up will clip in in a way that requires much less belt to be used.
We used to sit in the back of my Dad's Escort van, and take turns sitting on the tool boxI was put in a carry cot on the back seat of my Dad's Marina. Being a 2 door, they figured with no rear doors to fling open, at least I wouldn't end up out on the road. I'm still here.
Consider changing the bed/bench seat for on with isofix.....the law has changed and “booster seats” are banned. You’re a long way away from that but if you’re planning on keeping the van....!Hi. We are excited new owners of a 2018 T6 highline. We have a 5 month old baby. Her current 0+ car seat goes on the front bench. The seat belt just fits round to secure it. When we change to the next car seat up, I'm worried it won't fit in the front and the seat belt will be too short. Less of a concern is that we won't have space for one of us to fit too in the front. The seat belt in back on rock and roll bed also too short. No isofix. Any advice, suggestions or reassurance most welcome please?!
trying to find some suggestions about a baby seat for a 6 month old - bought a Joie seat and it fits on the back bench seat (also the bed) using the seat belt.facing forward. I think all babies now have to have rear facing seats. Has anyone had iso fixings put in and if so would they stop the back bench being used as a bed? Any thoughts gratefully received!
That's so kind of you to reply so quickly. Judging by the lack of info on all my searches I think you are right. It's a new conversion and the baby seat (well padded with air bags etc) fits snugly onto the rear bench seat/bed and it very secure, forward facing. I'm getting in touch with Cambee in Devon who did an amazing job and perhaps they have a solution. The trouble with iso fixings I think it means you can't pull out the bed - so defeats the camper option. Very grateful for your help
No Problem. It’s been a year or two since we had a ‘baby’ seat but have had the small maxi cosi one (cabriofix and then pebble) and these were good. Used them in our cars with the isofix base but then could use in grandparents etc easily with just the seatbelt. We never had the van at this point. Maybe worth a look as gives you rear facing etc but will likely only last up to 15 months or so which is when we moved to the recaro monza seats I mentioned above which are forward facing.
It was rear facing and yes we used it from birth. Will see if I can find a typical photo of it. It was the carrycot type that you can then get pram adapters etc for to clip the whole thing direct to a problem as well. When your parents used the maxi cost one with seat belt, was that forward facing? and was it when your kids were babies?
