Hi guys my T6 just been into sheffield van center today for 1st oil services from new
I’m not still happy at 19500 for oil change
As I’m old school and think it’s too long ....
so my real gripe is this
on there service inspections they say rear shocks leaking at 15 month old and 19500 miles
Bearing in mind it’s a family van
Not a load lugging work horse heaviest thing it carries is our shopping lol
So they say item is not covered under warranty
As wear and tear items
My answer was so is the engine and transmission ?? Sorry if I sound stupid
But I’m sure they should be more durable on the t32 chassis’s
So any help as to best replacement shocks to get will be helpful
Or anyone taking originals off from there new T32 please let me know
I’m in West Yorkshire wakefeild area
I’ve looked at new units but most say not for T32 chassis ??
Thanks for any help I’m new at this forum stuff as I’m a silver surfer lol
so please go easy on me
Thanks Royboy

How can shock absorbers not be classed as a warranty item. That’s ridiculous.

Have you tried telephoning other VW dealers to ask?

Hi thanks for reply I too feel a bit cheated
VW state that there only covered up to 6 months or 6000 miles ??
I’m sorry but when you lay out £30,000+ on these vehicles
You expect quality
I feel like I’ve lost the love for this kombi and this hurts me
As it went in at 14,000 miles for full EGR FLUSH too
So I’ve not contacted anyone in VW yet I’m still getting my blood pressure to drop
I’ve 15 month of manufacturing warranty left
So what else they trying to duck out of .??
Thanks for your help and support guys all the best
Royboy xxx

hi you say you have loads .??
I’m going to ask this question
What is difference between T32 set of rear shocks
then any other T6 chassis’s set of shocks.??
I know it’s the load bearing strength but is the mounts different shocks different.?
It’s my first transporter so not fully DUBBED Upon everything yet lol
Many thanks for your time Royboy

@richi is suggesting that you contact @BognorMotors who are likely to have OEM replacement components that they don’t need.

You’ll find them on a Google search.
Just telephone, ask for Olly and say that the T6 Forum mentioned they may hold spares.

I had the same at about the same mileage. It was in with Vw for service, and they said one was leaking.
When I asked why didn`t you replace it, they said it was not under warranty.

I feel cheated by VW you pay all this money for what you think is quality
I had Toyota hilux for 12 years carried tons of soil from garden never put parts or spanner on it
Only to service traded it in for this kombi whish I had kept it
A T32 T6 should be strong I’ve lost faith in VW at 15 months of owning one
Thanks for letting me in your issues
I hope I’ve no more too come thanks Royboy

I felt the same, after selling my Vivaro, which I had from ex demo. I could have nearly bought 2 vivaros for the price of my T6. The Vivaro has a bad name, but mine never went wrong, was excellent on fuel, and super cheap to service.
I don`t feel the T6 is better quality at all, but I have the 204 and I do enjoy the extra ooopphh. Thats about it. Vw service is very poor, and I have switched to my local indipendant for service now.

Hi morning yes I know what you mean the hilux was the crew cab invincible and never a fault in 12 years
While my T6 is only the 102hp swb kombi I like the van but EGR FLUSH at 14,000 miles
Had to call VW ASSIST to come see problem even through I had scanned it myself
With code reader too see why this was happening
Only then to be told by assistance guy that my van had a batch of faulty batteries on it that VW knew about .?
But when at dealer they said no battery ok
So I hit them with the faulty Bach number and date code they knew I had them over a barrel
And put new VARTA on ,but I had to fight to get it
As you say I could have had a ford transit crew van for £1000s less but looked at future resale value
I did think about the new petrol van as I knew the T6 was having EGR ISSUES but you never think it will happen to you
So as much as it will pain me to sell her I will have to get shut
I can’t live with the not knowing what else will bail out it’s 15 month old for God’s sake
Not a shitter from a wright off yard thanks for understanding my moans and groans lol
How old is your T6 thanks again Royboy

Mine is on a 66 plate. Had the EGR changed under warranty, but that took nearly a week. On the whole, I am happy with the van, I just don`t think the quality is any better than most of the other vans out there, and is a reflection on the cost.
I need a new van for my son who works with me, and I am not even considering a Transporter. I think a Vito, or back to Vivaro or similar, and then I can compare them again.
I think if the backup from dealerships was better, then maybe I wouldn`t be writing this

Hi yeah I agree with you I sure hope your van serves you well
It’s hard too feel bitter on a new van I too don’t see the quality
In price paid
But I like everyone just like the transporter style
So it will have to prove me wrong to be redeemed from trade in in 6 months time
So I sure wish you well and hope your next choice is happier
Thanks again Royboy
