T6 Kombi to Caravelle seating upgrade?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so please excuse my ignorance.

We have a T6 Kombi T28 (2018) with 1+2 in the front and 3 bench in the rear. We have a family 6 and the kids are rapidly growing into adults, so the current seating configuration is becoming a bit of a squeeze. So, was wondering whether if anyone could advise whether a Caravelle upgrade to 6 x captains seats is possible, by buying and fitting caravelle seating rails and captain seats. If it is possible, does anyone know 1) whether it is fairly straightforward 2) of a company (near Bristol if possible) that would be able quote and fit?

Thanks

Mark

Yes fitting Caravelle rails is possible and would allow 6 captains seats or even 4 captains seats and a 3 seat bench.

As for if it is fairly straightforward, I would say yes, but I guess that depends on your 'handiness'.

@BognorMotors have done some 6 seat vans as you describe.

I put a centre shuttle seat (with integral seat belt) in the middle at the back so have 2 captains chairs up front, 2 & 1 in the middle row and a single in the third row. Its only for when we go out with the grandparents. I also have windows in the rear as car sickness can sometimes be an issue with no horizon to look at (they’re mostly staring at tablets & phones but thats another story!)

Caravelle seats and seat rails are expensive - it could be a £4k+ conversion!

Ian

Thanks Ian, I have contacted them and they have responded. :)

Thank you. Does the Caravelle bench recline?

T6 Cotswold parts isnt that far from you. They sell everything for a caravelle and can fit the seats. They used to take your old seats in px as well

Can you help me? I have a 2018 Caravelle and the 3 seat bench does not fold flat backwards, am I missing something?
Pull the handle all the way out at the front, just under the cushion, then push the back away from you. You may need to lift the front of the seat cushion to help it fold flat.

I've tried again today, definitely does not go more than about 45 degrees.

If they don't get used, they can get really stiff. When yhe backrest gets to 45 degrees, that about the point when the base starts to lift. Also, make sure the seat is far enough forwards to have room to recline. Too far back and it won't tip past the side panels.

Keep at it, you'll figure it out.

Nice one Deaky, finally managed to get it to fold flat today, you were right, LIFT the front as the back rest moves backwards, much appreciated.
