Tanstalf Member T6 Pro 23 Mar 2024 #2 Took some good advice and bought a replacement 12v fitting, in orange but they also come in green or blue. I took out the donor 12v socket and chopped off the back using a mini hacksaw. The dash needs a wee sand as it's not perfectly round. You will see a small flat part at about 10 o'clock. Once sanded, you should be able to push and clip in the outer orange ring. Finally, pop the trim back into the dash and feed the 12v cable in, then bend the two clips inside the 12v socket to keep it in place.
