I didn't bother tapping into any of the existing wiring. I simply bought a momentary switch and wired it directly onto the tailgate actuator.

Where does the other end of the wire go ?
(i dont have wiring diagrams in front of me)

It goes from control unit in n/s rear quarter panel above n/s rear wheel arch to under passenger seat, I have fitted new white t17j plug ( I think pin 1) is the location. Just stuck from here to Bcm pin 30

That cable is the switched negative return from the tailgate to the bcm so is present on all vehicles
You just need two wires from terminals 6 & 8 on the control module and run into the roof above the rear quarter and just cut and join it there

Did you check under the seat at white 17pin plug to see if theres blue wire at pin 1? Youre probably prewired from factory for it but not to the tailgate from there. That wire doesnt seem to be feeding anything else other than latching module.

Scrap that just saw you added the plug :think smile bounce:

The cable needs to be cut then terminals 6 and 8 connected to each side of the cut

Looks like in T6 the pin 30 goes directly to tailgate lock where if there’s latching it goes to latching module first and then out to lock so basically running through it so important part is to connect the right ends to pin 6 and 8. So from pin 9 on tailgate plug to pin 6 on latching module and from pin 8 on latching module back to pin 9 on tailgate plug
