Investigating an issue with the rnr bed not locking into the positions, i noticed this.seat_mechanism.jpg

thats a piece of terminal block holding the cables in a loop on the end of the pull handle. feels a bit cowboy to me, or am i expecting too much?

If it was me I’d of removed the plastic, without that it’s a perfectly acceptable solution

I’ve seen something similar before in a different application.
If the cable tension is low, then it works fine.

and then it'd look like the cable join piece thats specifically designed for the job. like it, but not it.

I knew i'd seen something like this before, the page above mentions handbrake cables. maybe thats it.

Here’s the simple solution, make sure the grip matches the wire rope diameter and ’never saddle a dead horse’ (look it up).
You could also make a Flemish eye and use a shackle, much easier than it looks.

great info, thanks. juast watched some youtube on the dead horse, makes perfect sense. only one side of the cable carries load, its this side that needs to be in the saddle of the clamp or the cable will slide through the fastener.
