The Menace of Wild Camping!

I feel it incumbent upon myself to illustrate what I believe represents the fear of your average Daily Mail reader or Jeremy Vine listener and show the terrible blight on the landscape that can occur when so called "Wild Camping" is not brutally oppressed.
The scene below is less than a mile from Hayle in Cornwall, which in turn is a mere mile from the delightful "Story by The Sea" estate in Carbis Bay...
Ok I can't keep this up but literally two types of Cornish holiday makers with one lot paying massively through the nose for the same sea view.IMG20210705133909.jpg

The sight of those vans is a terrible blight on the traditional Cornish landscape.....stainless steel railings, tinted glass and birch cladding.
Cornwall or New Surrey as it should be known is going to the dogs.
I predict a riot.....dreckly.

I was originally going to condemn the campers for the horrendous temporary looking power supply they were surely responsible for.
However in a sudden flash of enlightenment I realised that the view from their location towards the beach and St. Ives beyond was better than the reality of being among the Mongol hordes trapped there sheltering in doorways/urinals being hunted by packs of marauding Chelsea tractors down for the season.
Cornwall is still a great holiday destination, where if you're really lucky, might meet somebody actually born there.

People applying Laws differently can be a huge problem as Covid has clearly demonstrated. Like people being told they could only exercise for an hour a day, or reports of many being stopped for all sorts of spurious reasons. On the other hand I made many (legitimate) long distance train journeys yet never received so much as a second glance.
So we can only hope this proposed ‘clampdown’ will be used when necessary and appropriate and not depend on how a relevant official feels that day. But can we rely on this?

You’re right, there’s a good chance the local youth are living in vans as the landlords have doubled / tripled the rent for holiday lets.

Used to love Cornwall in the 1970's, went back in the late 1990's was appalled at the amount of tourist tat and regulation that was everywhere. I won't be going back in this lifetime.
