Thermal fleece Insulation

Hello

I would like to buy Thermo Fleece Insulation (Recycled Plastic Bottle), in Belgium they only have Ecopeg 39, I can buy the following brands cheaper via Ebay.

-DeadSound Thermal Fleece 50mm

-Dodo Thermo Slimline 50mm

-Opulent Home Loft Insulation Premium Itch-Free 50mm

-High Loft Itch Free Eco Friendly Loft Thermal Insulation 50mm

All 4 are around 11.8m2, the prices are as followed:

-Dodo £127

-Deadsound £112

-High loft £115

-Opulent £104

Is there a big difference in quality between these 4 brands or is there a real recommendation from these 4?

welcome to the forum @Jimmyr the normal consensus is Silent coat and Dodo are the go to companies in the Uk? Do a search and see what’s mentioned and proven to work buddy

Hi, I will first do the inside with K-flex st 19 and 6mm, K-flex is like Armaflex Af but even better, sound deadning mats are normally no longer necessary with K-flex.
Best deal if i order

Best deal I can get on Ebay Uk along with Trim fix spray is Deadsound thermal fleece (same seller for the spray/Thermal fleece), import coast are high
Dodo wil cost me around £30, but is it worth the extra30?

I couldn’t comment on K-flex as I’ve never heard or used it buddy sorry. Have a look at the properties of each product and make your mind up that way?

I used Dodo Thermo Fleece 50mm from Sound Deadening Shop

My insulation is made up of three layers:

- Silent Coat 2mm
- Dodo Thermoliner 6mm
- Dodo Thermo Fleece 50mm

K-flex also works as a sound absorber so i can skip 1 layer

As far as I can see Dodo Thermo slimline is twice as heavy as DeadSound thermo fleece and also heavier than Ecopeg 39, Then dodo seems like the best choice
Someone who knows the correct weight of Dodo thermo slimline 10m x 39 x 50mm, saw on Amazon 6 kg for the Dodo 10m x 37 x 50 roll but I'm not sure if that is the same type

Best be 100%, the purpose of a butyl / aluminuim sound deadening layer is to stop ‘drumming’ from ever occuring. Just installing acoustic insulation isn’t going to prevent the noise it will just absorb some of it.

From k-flex description: Reduction of sound transmission, so it is best to first install a a few anti-drumming plates??

Yes, then some of the noise isn’t created in the first place.

Dodo is off the table, it was another brand with the Dodo name in the description, but this is not Dodo, dodo is not available in Belgium, there is only 1 store that sends it to us but the price is almost x2

The brand I thought was Dodo is: PRO™ Thermo Fleece Premium Van Void

They claim to be better than Dodo, at least the weight is okay 3.9 SQM = 3.9kg

I asked the seller again which is better: an wider roll, but only 2 cm wider :) but the specifications of PRO™ Thermo Fleece Premium Van Void look good?

Hi @Jimmyr .
The brands available in Belgium appear to be very different to those here in the UK.

Maybe you could ask around in Belgium which good brands van camper converters and vehicle high quality vehicle hi-fi installers would use?
The camper guys may know about insulation and the hi-fi guys would know about noise deadening and absorption?

And another welcome to the forum from me. It's good to hear other’s views. Hope you find a good solution soon.
Keep us informed!
Andy

Hi @Jimmyr .

The 4 brands in the opening post are for sale via Ebay UK and are not for sale in Belgium, only via Ebay

I have been looking around for Thermal fleece insulation for 2 weeks now, in Belgium/the Netherlands there is only Ecopeg 39, we cannot find any of the other brands, even brands like Diall that focus on the house construction market, Thermal fleece insulation is simply not for sale with us.

I just bought 3 rolls of PRO™ Thermo Fleece Premium Van Void.
