I bought my T6 back in April and it came with a 7-pin socket wired in, but I wanted a 13-pin to connect properly to my caravan so I got a local towbar specialist to change it to 13-pin and add the relevant wiring. However, he only used the existing universal controller and I wanted a dedicated one coded in, so I removed the brand new socket and all the wiring to battery and rear lights and controller that was behind the vent behind the rear bumper, there is also a voltage sensing relay he added for the 12v switching wire.
