Towing & Side assist

Evening. Maybe a noddy question - I’ve just started towing with my Caravelle Gen6 - when hooked up I can see the trailer on the radio when moving to reverse & alarm detects when unplugging electrics. What I can’t figure out though is why stop start and Side Assist remain active when the manual says they should be deactivated - is there anything I should be looking at?? It’s a westfalia towbar that was on the van when we bought it. Could it be a coding issue or wiring harness issue?? Is there anything else I should check? Thanks in advance.

Yes, side assist can be coded for trailer(which means every time trailer is connected/detected the side assist gets deactivated automatically).
I didn't like that so I have purposely coded out trailer in my side assist system so I can deactivate it only manually.
This way works for me much better than default factory configuration.

Ah ok good to know thanks! Is this a VCDS only coding or will Carista cut it? Also, did you sort stop start ? Thinking about it I wonder if the fridge has to be turned on as well….
