Following on from this thread, I am trying to get to the bottom of my trailer electrics problem.
Short version - no problems at all until I pulled a trailer at the end of January 2024 (we had owned the van 10 months by then).
After disconnecting the trailer, the headunit still shows a trailer connected and the park sensors don't work until I press the brake (and presumably create an open circuit).
Following advice about a potentially knackered switch, I have replaced the socket with another VW/Audi OEM branded 7-pin socket with a switch.
I have followed the wiring diagram according to PF Jones website and am still having the same problem.
I've just had my meter on the pins and every pin shows a voltage except for pin 2 - the foglight.
I have switched the foglight on and nothing is sent to the pin. I have pressed the switch in (to open the contact) and still see nothing at the pin.
It has a Brink-supplied Jaeger module and both fuses are intact and closed (if I remove the fuses, the OPS throws a wobbler and I get a continuous tone).
Van has factory fitted LED tail lights (odd because it didn't have factory headlights and I thought they only came as a set) and the trailer electrics are coded.
Faulty module or dodgy wiring?
