Hi all

After some confusion when replacing the tyres on my camper
Conversion at the mot garage unfortunately the guy ended up fitting 99y rated tires.

It’s a 2021 LWB t30 with 20inch wheels on

245/40/zr20 99y extra load

Question is I don’t think these are rated enough for the van itself and should be at least 101.
am
I okay to run them for a while or should I swap them out right away ?
Or maybe leave the fronts on and change the backs?

I only noticed a few weeks after I got the van back and disputed it and he’s given me them for nothing so I’ve nothing to lose financially just don’t want to run any unnecessary risks?

Thanks all

If you have an accident whilst running under-rated tyres (even if your van actually weighs less than the rating of the tyres), it gives your insurer an excuse to refuse to payout for damage to your van. If tyre rating is deemed a contributory factor of the accident, you could also be prosecuted under Construction & Use regs.

Thank you for this , I’ll make it a priority of mine to get them swapped back over again. Cheers
